Good day everyone
lights, colors, chaos – China Town, Bangkok. One of my favorite places to visit in Bangkok. Last year in summer I went there for the first time and did one of my first street sessions with my camera. Now after a few months it was time to go back to this lovely noisy area which is full of people, food and all kinds of different impressions. Perfect combination. This place is full of life!
The location is pretty easy to reach by BTS / TukTuk as it is pretty central to the city center.
It’s basically just a 1 km long road which has on the left/right side some alleys with all kinds of different food/drinks. I would recommend to go there at evening/night as this is the time where the market comes alive. Before at day time it’s not that busy and most of the shops are still closed.
Yaowarat, China Town – Bangkok
I was basically just walking around for hours and hours as I always do it. Just walking, watching the people around me and taking some photos.
Nothing more satisfying for me then getting all those different impressions of chaos, smells, sounds and colors.
“It’s also fascinating to see how all those different street chefs work and how their routine let things look so easy. Someone told me that this market exists for more than 100 years now and that it is one of the oldest street food markets in Bangkok.”
One thing which I really love about markets is the connection about food and happiness. It gives me always a huge smile when I walk around and see families, couples, students or who ever enjoying their food with this mix of excitement and just pure happiness. It always shows me how important those small things in life are to be happy for the moment. Everyone has their problems, struggles.. – Sometimes you need to just live in the presence and enjoy the moment. Life runs so fast all the time and we sometimes need to slow ourself a bit down.
The only problem while visiting those markets is – You can’t try everything you see – Even it looks so delicious.. But there is just SO MUCH FOOD EVERYWHERE 😀
As the sun went down and I still was pretty motivated walking around , I tried to use all those colors around the street to get some “different” images which show more about the mood and impressions I had.
I hope you enjoyed this little walk around China Town with me 🙂
